Mimi is my mom who my kids call Mimi, so now we all call her Mimi. Mimi was looking for a change in her breakfast nook and a change is what she got. Not much for the dark table resting in the corner of her kitchen, Mimi wanted to see that space brightened up by taking the table from drab to fab! This fantastic table was once a dark traditional table with a leaf ….. and today it’s a great conversation piece in Mimi’s nook.

Together with Mimi and Papa’s help, this kitchen table took on a whole new look. Here’s how:
Supplies:
- Purdy Brushes (Lowes)
- Bulls Eye 1-2-3 Primer
- Valspar Chalky Paint – Old Locket
- Valspar Chalky Paint – Hope Chest
- Valspar Chalky Paint – Kids Gloves
- Minwax Polycrilic Satin Top Coat
Personal Note: I use Bullseye 1-2-3 primer when chalk painting over darker woods. It’s a personal preference – I’m not sure if Kilz or another brand of prime would work just as well because I’ve had great success with Bullseye. So until it does me wrong, this is my brand of choice.
